Chicago, IL – According to a recent social media post in the Chicago Hip Hop Heritage Museum Group from Co-Founder and Media Manager, Kingdom Rock, the museum will be temporarily closed during its transition to a new location beginning December 27th, 2025.
The post also states, "In the meantime, we invite the public to visit our current exhibition, "On Record: A Legacy of Hip Hop," located at 754 S. Wabash Avenue, presented in partnership with Columbia College Chicago Hip Hop Minor Department. The exhibition will remain open through April 1, 2026."

Chicago, IL – The Chicago Hip Hop Heritage Museum (CHHHM) proudly presents the Women in Hip Hop Exhibit, celebrating the groundbreaking contributions of women across all elements of Hip Hop culture. The exhibit began in July 2025 and will run through April 2026 at 4505 S. Indiana Avenue, Chicago, IL.
This dynamic exhibit highlights the diverse impact of women in Hip Hop, including Emcees, DJs, Producers, Engineers, Radio Broadcasters and Personalities, Media professionals, Breakdancers, Tag Artists, and more. Through photos, artifacts, memorabilia, and interactive installations, visitors gain a deeper understanding of the powerful influence women have had in shaping the genre and culture from its roots to today.

A Brief History of the Museum
Founded by Brian Gorman, Darrell "Artistic" Roberts, and Carrico "Kingdom Rock" Sanders, the Chicago Hip Hop Heritage Museum is the first of its kind in the city to preserve and honor the history, artistry, and cultural significance of Hip Hop in Chicago and beyond. Since its inception, CHHHM has been a cultural hub, educating communities, showcasing local talent, and celebrating the artists and pioneers who have shaped the city’s rich Hip Hop legacy.
